Pickleball 101- An introduction to pickleball for ADULT beginners.
Course Outline: This is a beginning Adult pickleball course in which students will develop the basic skills to play the game of pickleball. Students will also learn the fundamental rules, basic strategies, and court positioning for doubles play.
Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, much like a wiffle ball, over a net. Pickleball is played on a court that is about 1/3 the size of a tennis court. It has been described as the fastest growing sport in the nation.
Instructor: Cliff Teixeira will be instructing this course. He has been instructing beginners here in Barrington for the past 3 years. Cliff is also an IPTPA- Level 1, Certified Pickleball Instructor and is the USA Pickleball District Ambassador of Rhode Island.
Spring Adult Pickleball 101: This five week clinic will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm to 7:30pm beginning May4th and ending June 1st. Paddles will be provided.*
Fee: $53 Barrington Resident; $63 Non Resident. Includes a nonrefundable $3 processing fee.
