BLUE GRASS COUNTRY AND THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS.
April 16-24, 2020
Featuring Louisville, Kentucky; Gatlinburg, Tennessee; and Asheville, NC Spring is the premier time to visit this area of natural beauty and historic sites. This 9-day tour begins in Louisville, famous for thoroughbreds, bourbon and baseball. Visit Churchill Downs and Old Louisville, with the largest concentration of Victorian mansions in the country. Learn about bourbon distilling at Buffalo Trace and, of course, taste some of Kentucky’s homegrown spirit. Explore Kentucky’s horse country, with stunning, rolling blue grass pastureland, where a visit to a private horse farm is included. The most visited National Park in the United States, Great Smoky Mountains, is a Unesco World Heritage Site, with a diverse ecosystem and the largest deciduous forest in the eastern US. We’ll visit the park with a local guide, stopping at various lookouts ending at Newfound Gap. A trip highlight will be a tour of the impressive Vanderbilt mansion, the Biltmore Estate, and its manicured grounds. These are just a few of the many must-see sites while enjoying the grandeur of nature of Bluegrass Country and the Smoky Mountains.
